Airplane Birthday Party - A fun and easy idea to make the perfect airplane birthday party! Ideas for invitations, airplane cupcakes and more!
My sweet little guy just turned 2 years old! It may have been about 2 months ago, but I'm happy to share her party with you. Asher loves airplanes. His favorite part of being outdoors before winter came was watching planes fly by. We live near an airport, so planes fly a little lower here. As the plane takes off, he stops what he's doing and says, "Airplane!" and point to the sky. so lovely! So I decided it would be perfect to have an airplane themed birthday for him. I knew she would love it and she did!
Airplane Birthday Party
I'm not particularly interested in birthday parties. Simple but fun and perfect.

I created an invitation using PicMonkey. It was very easy. For the clouds, I used a comic bubble that looks like a cloud (overlay section) and erased two small dots using an eraser. I used this clip art to add text behind the plane. I used Microsoft Publisher to add the planes, but I believe you can also use PicMonkey to add them.
I love how the cupcakes turned out! I looked for ideas on the internet but couldn't find anything I was looking for so I made my own like a good baker.
I printed an airplane outline sheet using this outline to create an airplane topper. Then covered with wax paper.
I melted the dark blue candy melt and traced the outline with the melted candy melt using a squeeze bottle. Once set, you can slowly take it off. If something breaks, add an extra. I have found it helpful to put a candy airplane outline sheet in the refrigerator for 5 minutes and then unfold it. (Hint: Place a cookie sheet under the airplane outline paper before drawing the airplane outline.)

For the cupcakes and frosting, I followed this recipe only changing the color of the frosting. Reserve 1 cup frosting for clouds before adding blue food coloring. Once the cupcakes are blue frosted, use a piping bag with a large round tip to form the clouds. (You can use a zipper bag and cut a small corner to use it as a piping bag.)
To decorate the table, I laid out a blue tablecloth, decorated it with cupcakes, strewn my birthday signs, and used these outlines to decorate paper airplanes cut out as silhouettes.
Again, using my silhouette I cut out 2 large planes (using this outline), then I cut out the rest of the marks freehand. I'm not good at cutting by hand, but I think it worked! I also cut out the words Asher is Two using my silhouette.
To make the cup more colorful, I added 2 numbers using white vinyl. (The font is Janda Mante Solid.)

Despite his good looks, Asher had a lot of fun! (He just woke up after a fun morning at the children's museum.)
