9mm Ak Pistol Glock Mags - Sometimes scrolling through my Facebook feed is an exercise in frustration, but some days are different. In a few days, one of your favorite AK stores will post something good. Circle 10 AK has had the opportunity to release the first known photos of Century's new AK pistol, a Draco in 9mm. This isn't the first AK we've seen in 9mm, but it looks like it's the first the market is taking seriously. Century's Draco pistols were so popular that Draco became almost synonymous with the AK pistol.
Coming to SHOT Show 2018 is the Draco NAK9 AK pistol. These AKs are made in Romania. One of the best features of the NAK9 AK pistol is the fact that it will rock Glock 9mm magazines. The pistol is compatible with Glock 19 and larger magazines, so the only magazines that are excluded are Glock 26 magazines. This means you can rock abilities from 15 to 33 rounds. Heck if you're nervous you can throw one of those crazy Korean 50-round drums on it and rock and roll.

The NAK9 has a Picatinny rail for scope mounting and comes with standard AK iron sights. The gun also comes with a standard AK safety and the gun appears to have an AK mag release. Some news outlets have reported that it uses a standard AK mag issue, but a closer look at the photos reveals a magazine button that works fine. I'll bet this is the actual magazine issue and not the traditional AK mag issue.

The traditional release is likely to hold the entire magazine securely in place, along with the front handguard. The Chiappa PAK 9 uses a very similar design and is also manufactured in Romania. The Draco NAK9 has a 1:10 twist chrome lined bore and is fully compatible with AK handguards. The muzzle is threaded with a 14mmLH left hand metric thread pitch. The wire protecting the cap appears to have a tack weld holding it in place for import purposes. The good news is that it is easy to remove. The gun is a blowback design, so it's a little different internally than a standard AK. Using a pistol caliber blowback design makes a lot of sense and ensures the pistol is reliable with a variety of 9mm ammunition.
It's a great design and a great idea. With the market for pistol carbine calibers being so large, it makes sense that a reputable company would finally release a 9mm AK. Kalashnikov USA promised one for a while, and so did the Saiga before the import ban. It's surprising to me that it's taken this long for a major AK company to release an AK in 9mm. Using it in Glock magazines is a good move. This gives shooters an easy source of cheap, reliable and useful magazines.
I hope Century got it right and released the gun shortly after SHOT. This is another weapon I added to my list to see at SHOT Show 2018.

It accepts Glock 17 and 19 mags and is compatible with an AKM handguard. This model has a black finish, an 11.14 inch barrel and has a 33 round magazine.
