9mm Ak Glock Mags - Sometimes my Facebook feed is an exercise in frustration, but some days are different. Sometimes one of your favorite UK stores releases something great. Circle 10 AK was given the opportunity to release the first known photos of Century's new AK pistol, the 9mm Draco. This isn't the first AK we've seen in 9mm, but it seems to be the first to take the market seriously. Century's Draco pistols are so popular that the Draco has become almost synonymous with the pistol in the UK.
The Draco NAK9 AK pistol will be offered at SHOT Show 2018. These AKs are manufactured in Romania. One of the best features of the NAK9 AK pistol is the fact that it will fit Glock 9mm magazines. The pistol will be compatible with Glock 19 and larger magazines, so the only magazines will be excluded from the Glock 26. This means you can increase the capacity from 15 to 33 rounds. Heck, if you're energetic, you can throw in some of those crazy Korean 50-tone drums and rock 'n' roll.

The NAK9 is equipped with a Picatinny rail for mounting sights as well as standard AK iron sights. The pistol will also be equipped with a standard AK safety, and the pistol also appears to have an AK mag trigger. A few news outlets have reported that it uses a standard AK mag release, but a closer look at the photos reveals a magazine button. I'd be willing to bet it's a real magazine issue and not a traditional UK magazine issue.

The traditional release probably holds the entire magazine well with the handguard. The Chiappa PAK 9 used a very similar design and was also produced in Romania. The Draco NAK9 features a 1:10 swivel chrome bore and is fully compatible with AK grips. The barrel is threaded with a left-hand metric thread pitch of 14mmLH. The thread protector has a welded joint that holds it in place for import purposes. The good news is that they are easy to remove. The pistol has a blowback design, so it is slightly different internally than a standard AK. Using a blowback design with a pistol caliber makes a lot of sense and will keep the pistol reliable with a wide variety of 9mm ammo.
It's a great design and a great idea. With the market for pistol caliber carbines so vast, it only makes sense that a reputable company would finally release a 9mm AK. Kalashnikov has been promising one in the US for some time, and Saiga did the same before the import ban. It amazes me that it took this long for a major AK company to release an AK in 9mm. Using Glock magazines is a good move. It provides shooters with an immediate source of affordable, reliable and affordable magazines.
I hope Century realizes this and has the gun on the market soon after SHOT. This is just another gun I added to my list to see at the 2018 SHOT Show.
